Privacy notice
This notice explains how INVARIANCE LIMITED (“INVARIANCE”, “we”) handles personal data on invarianceip.com. The website asks for personal data only when you choose to contact us or register for the Rule Wars school pilot. Like any website, it also processes technical data when you visit, as described below. It sets no advertising or analytics cookies and uses no tracking.
Who is responsible
INVARIANCE LIMITED, company number 812955, registered office Kissanes, Main Street, Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny, R95 XFD4, Ireland, is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: contact@invarianceip.com.
What we collect and why
| Where | Data | Purpose | Lawful basis | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rule Wars school pilot form | Your name, school, school email address, country and the language of the page | To run the Rule Wars school pilot and contact you about your participation | Your consent, given on the form | 12 months from registration, then deleted automatically, unless a separate agreement or a legal obligation requires longer |
| Email to contact@invarianceip.com | Your email address, name and anything you write | To reply to you and handle your request | Our legitimate interest in answering inquiries, or steps you ask us to take before a contract | Only as long as needed to deal with the request, then deleted, unless it leads to a contract or a legal obligation requires longer |
| Class feedback sheet from the teacher pack, sent by email | Totals for the class as a whole, the teacher’s email address and anything the teacher writes. The sheet asks for no names or other details that could identify a pupil. | To learn how the game works in class during the pilot | Our legitimate interest in improving the game | As for email above |
| Every visit (technical) | IP address, browser details, the page requested and security signals, processed by our host, Cloudflare, to deliver and protect the site | Delivering the website, protecting it against automated abuse and rate limiting the form | Our legitimate interest in running a secure website | Not stored by INVARIANCE. The form’s rate limit keeps a count per IP address for one minute. Cloudflare keeps its own request and security logs for a limited period under its policies. |
Our forms are for teachers and other adults, not pupils. We ask teachers not to send us anything that could identify a pupil. The Rule Wars game has no accounts, and nothing a player does in the game is recorded or sent. As with any web page, loading the game involves the technical request data described above.
Who processes data for us
Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the website, protects it against automated abuse and stores pilot registrations for us in its D1 database service, set to the European Union jurisdiction. Cloudflare acts as our processor under its standard data protection terms. Deleted registrations can remain in Cloudflare’s database recovery history for up to 30 days before they are removed completely.
Our email service is Microsoft 365, provided through GoDaddy. Microsoft and GoDaddy process the messages sent to contact@invarianceip.com for us, under their standard data protection terms.
When a page fails to load, your browser may send a short error report, with the page address and the type of error, to Cloudflare, which uses it to keep its network reliable.
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Pilot registrations are stored in the European Union. Cloudflare’s network delivers the site from locations worldwide, so request data may be processed outside the EEA. Where personal data is processed outside the EEA, our providers rely on safeguards recognised under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your personal data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was done before. Write to contact@invarianceip.com; we will answer within one month.
You can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie). If you live in the United Kingdom you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), and in France the CNIL (cnil.fr).
